Chuxiong Normal College was established in May 2001, with the approval of the Ministry of Education, on the basis of the merger of the original Chuxiong Normal College and Chuxiong Ethnic Normal School. It integrates full-time normal education with non normal education, radio and television education, and adult education. It is the only undergraduate normal college in Yunnan Province's Ethnic Autonomous Prefecture. The college is located in Chuxiong City, the capital of Chuxiong Yi Autonomous Prefecture, known as the "Provincial Gate", "Dianzhong Corridor", and "Yixi Throat".

Kunming University is a public full-time undergraduate university officially approved by the Ministry of Education of the People's Republic of China. It is a regular higher education institution formed by the merger of two well-known universities in Yunnan Province - Kunming Normal College and Kunming University. In October 2001, with the approval of the Ministry of Education, Dali Medical College and Dali Normal College merged, and Yunnan Radio and Television University Dali Branch and Dali Industrial School merged to form Dali College.

Yunnan Academy of Arts was founded in 1959 and is a comprehensive higher art institution with distinct characteristics and a complete range of art categories in southwestern China. Since its establishment, Yunnan Academy of Arts has gathered a large number of famous artists. Professor Liao Xinxue, a oil painter and sculptor who returned from France, Professor Li Dan, a violinist, Professor Fang Yu and his wife, a vocalist (translator of Les Miserables), Professor Yuan Xiaocen, a well-known Chinese painter and sculptor, and other experts and scholars have successively taught in the college. The college currently has 646 faculty members, including 551 staff members at the university headquarters and 95 staff members at affiliated schools. Among the 307 full-time teachers in the university headquarters, 51 have the title of professor, 119 have the title of associate professor, 7 experts enjoy special allowances from the State Council, 5 experts with outstanding contributions at the provincial level, and 8 experts enjoy special allowances from the Yunnan Provincial Government.

Yunnan Agricultural Vocational and Technical College is a public full-time ordinary higher education institution approved by the Yunnan Provincial People's Government and qualified for higher education. It is open to enrollment nationwide. The college has a long history of education. It was founded in the 30th year of the Guangxu reign of the Qing Dynasty (1904 AD) at the Yunnan Silkworm Academy, which pioneered vocational education in Yunnan. Currently, it mainly focuses on animal husbandry and veterinary medicine, agriculture, and landscape architecture majors, with both computer application and economic management majors, and cultivates high-level technical applied specialized talents.

Kunming Vocational College of Arts is a regular university approved by the People's Government of Yunnan Province and registered by the Ministry of Education of the People's Republic of China, which implements vocational education. Its predecessor was Nie'er Music School. The college is located on the shore of Dianchi Lake, with a campus area of over 200 acres and a building area of over 70000 square meters. The environment is beautiful and the facilities are complete. There are currently departments such as Nie'er Conservatory of Music, School of Design and Media, Dance, and Applied Foreign Languages; There are over 3000 students from over 30 ethnic groups in 25 provinces and districts.

Qujing Normal University is located in Qujing City, the birthplace of the the Pearl River, the third largest river in China, the second largest city in Yunnan Province, the hometown of Cuan culture, and "the top ten livable cities in China". The school is the only regular undergraduate university in Northeast Yunnan, and is a master's degree awarding and construction school in Yunnan Province. It is one of the provincial-level universities that Yunnan Province and Qujing City prioritize for development. In June 2007, I passed the undergraduate teaching level evaluation of the Ministry of Education with a "good" score.

The predecessor of Yunnan University of Finance and Economics was Yunnan Provincial School of Finance and Trade Cadres, founded in 1951. In 1981, with the approval of the Ministry of Education, it was upgraded to Yunnan University of Finance and Trade and began full-time undergraduate education. In 1995, it was designated as a provincial-level key university by the Yunnan Provincial Government. In 1997, it passed the undergraduate teaching qualification evaluation by the Ministry of Education. In 1998, Yunnan Economic Management Cadre College was merged into the new Yunnan University of Finance and Trade. In February 2006, the Ministry of Education approved the renaming to Yunnan University of Finance and Economics.

Approved by the People's Government of Yunnan Province and the Ministry of Education, Yunnan Medical College was officially established in May 2003. The predecessor of Yunnan Medical College was Yunnan Provincial Health School, which was founded in 1936. At present, the school is located in Kunming, which is full of spring all year round, covering a total area of 633 acres. The Provincial Rural Doctor Correspondence General School, Provincial Remote Medicine Center, and Provincial General Practitioner Transformation Training Center are also built in this school.

Yunnan Transportation Vocational and Technical College was approved by the People's Government of Yunnan Province in April 2001, and was formed by the merger of the former Yunnan Provincial Highway Bureau Employee University, Yunnan Provincial Transportation School, and Yunnan Provincial Transportation Employee Secondary Vocational School. Southwest Forestry University began in the Forestry Department of Yunnan University in 1939, and has gone through Kunming Agricultural and Forestry University, Yunnan Forestry University, Yunnan Forestry University, and Southwest Forestry University. It was established independently in 1978 and was originally a directly affiliated institution of the Ministry of Forestry. In 2000, during the adjustment of the national higher education layout structure, it was adjusted from a university directly under the National Forestry Bureau to a higher education institution that is "jointly built by the province and managed by the province". With 70 years of educational experience and 30 years of independent education, it is currently the only independent higher forestry undergraduate institution in western China.
