Site Description: The predecessor of Yunnan University of Finance and Economics was Yunnan Provincial School of Finance and Trade Cadres, founded in 1951. In 1981, with the approval of the Ministry of Education, it was upgraded to Yunnan University of Finance and Trade and began full-time undergraduate education. In 1995, it was designated as a provincial-level key university by the Yunnan Provincial Government. In 1997, it passed the undergraduate teaching qualification evaluation by the Ministry of Education. In 1998, Yunnan Economic Management Cadre College was merged into the new Yunnan University of Finance and Trade. In February 2006, the Ministry of Education approved the renaming to Yunnan University of Finance and Economics.
