Hunan Foreign Economic and Trade Vocational College was formed in July 2003 by the merger and upgrading of Hunan Provincial School of Foreign Economic and Trade and Hunan Provincial School of Economic and Trade. Its educational history can be traced back to the establishment of Hunan Provincial Grain School in 1954. The college is a full-time higher vocational college organized by the Hunan Provincial Department of Commerce, integrating academic education and vocational training. 　

Changsha Southern Vocational College (formerly Southern University) is a full-time ordinary higher education institution approved by the Hunan Provincial People's Government in 2003, registered by the Ministry of Education, and invested and constructed by Hunan Huitong Group Co., Ltd. The college is located in the historical and cultural city of Changsha, located in the Yuelu Mountain University City. Hunan University of Technology Vocational and Technical College is a public full-time vocational college approved by the People's Government of Hunan Province and registered by the Ministry of Education, which is open to nationwide enrollment. The college is located in Xiangtan, the hometown of great people, and is divided into two schools: the south and the north. The teaching building, science and technology building, lecture hall, practical training building, library, sports hall, and other teaching, experimental life, and cultural facilities are all available. Hunan Urban Construction Vocational and Technical College was formed by the merger of the former Provincial School of Architecture, the former Provincial School of Building Materials, and the former Changsha Workers' University (Provincial Advanced Technical School of Architecture). It is managed by the Provincial Construction Engineering Group and has a history of over 50 years. With nearly 30000 graduates and over 10000 project managers trained, it covers the construction and building materials industries both inside and outside the province. It is known as the cradle of construction talents and the "Huangpu Military Academy" of the Million Building Hunan Army. Currently, there are three campuses located in Xiangtan and Changsha, including Gaoxin, Xinhu, and Nanhu, as well as one technical school and one continuing education college. They recruit students from nearly 30 provinces and cities across the country, with an average enrollment rate of 86.4% for new students in the past three years and an average employment rate of 91.79% for graduates at the end of the year.

The Oriental College of Science and Technology of Hunan Agricultural University is located in the historic and cultural city of Changsha, on the banks of the renowned Liuyang River. It was established by Hunan Agricultural University in 2002 under a new mechanism, approved by the Hunan Provincial People's Government, and one of the first batch of full-time undergraduate independent colleges confirmed by the Ministry of Education. The campus environment is elegant, the facilities are advanced, and the quality of education and teaching is excellent. The college has won honors such as "National Education and Teaching Management Demonstration College", "National Demonstration School for Creating a 'Safe Campus'", and "Advanced Grassroots Party Organization" in Hunan Province's universities. It is currently the chairman unit of the Hunan Province Independent College Joint Committee and the vice chairman unit of the China Independent College Cooperation Association.

Xiangtan Vocational and Technical College was established in August 2001. It is a state-owned full-time ordinary university approved by the People's Government of Hunan Province, registered with the Ministry of Education of the People's Republic of China, and is open to nationwide enrollment. The college is located in Xiangtan High tech Industrial Development Zone, at the intersection of Hedong Avenue and Silk Avenue, adjacent to the newly-built Xiangtan Civic Center, and connected to Changtan Expressway in the east, with convenient transportation. The college covers an area of 300 acres (currently planned to expand to 110 acres), with a building area of 180000 square meters and fixed assets of nearly 300 million yuan. There are currently 12000 registered students and 420 faculty members, including 10 professors, 63 associate professors, 109 teachers with associate high or higher professional titles, 130 "double qualified" teachers, and over 60 teachers with graduate or master's degrees. We have also hired a group of experts and scholars with high levels of knowledge, as well as senior engineering and technical personnel with strong practical abilities, as long-term part-time teachers, and hired foreign teachers to serve as teaching staff.

Hunan Electromechanical Vocational and Technical College is a public full-time ordinary higher education institution approved by the Hunan Provincial Government and registered by the Ministry of Education. The Hunan Electromechanical Senior Technical School under its jurisdiction is a senior technical school approved by the Ministry of Labor and Social Security.

Hunan Information Vocational and Technical College is the only public vocational college in the Hunan information industry, an excellent institution evaluated by the Ministry of Education for talent cultivation in vocational colleges, a civilized higher education institution in Hunan Province, a "qualified university for party building work" in ordinary higher education institutions in Hunan Province, and a leading unit and chairman unit of Hunan Information Industry Vocational Education Group.

Hunan Vocational and Technical College of Industry is a provincial-level public full-time ordinary university approved by the Ministry of Education of China. It is an excellent school for talent cultivation evaluation by the Ministry of Education. Changsha Education College was established in 1954 and is a public higher education institution approved by the Provincial People's Government and registered with the Ministry of Education. The college currently offers graduate courses for further education, correspondence courses for undergraduate and vocational education, and off campus classes for vocational education; In terms of continuing education, there are provincial and municipal backbone teacher training classes, municipal level teacher continuing education classes, principal on-the-job training and improvement classes, worker training classes, cadre English training classes, primary school English teacher training classes, non teacher education and psychology training classes, etc.

Hunan First Normal University, formerly known as Changsha Chengnan Academy founded by Zhang Shi during the Southern Song Dynasty, was established as Hunan Normal University in 1903. In 1912 and 1914, it was successively renamed as Hunan Public First Normal School and Hunan Provincial First Normal School. After liberation, it was renamed as Hunan Provincial First Normal School. In 2000, it was upgraded to a regular vocational college. In 2008, it was upgraded to a regular undergraduate institution of higher education and renamed to its current name.

Hunan Software Vocational College is a full-time regular higher education institution approved by the Hunan Provincial People's Government, registered by the Ministry of Education, and included in the national plan for unified enrollment.
