The college is a regular undergraduate institution that offers unified enrollment nationwide, with a full-time regular undergraduate enrollment level of four years. Guangdong Jiaotong Vocational and Technical College is a comprehensive vocational college with distinctive industry characteristics and a focus on engineering majors, approved by the Ministry of Education of the People's Republic of China in 1999 and formed by the merger of Guangdong Jiaotong School and Guangdong Provincial Shipping School. It has a history of 50 years of education and is a training base for high skilled talents and scarce skilled talents in the transportation industry in Guangdong. It is one of the first provincial-level demonstration vocational colleges established in Guangdong Province.

Guangzhou Civil Aviation Vocational and Technical College was established in March 1999 with the approval of the Ministry of Education. It is the only full-time regular higher education institution independently established by the Civil Aviation Administration of China to implement higher vocational education. The college was established in 1980 and has gone through four stages of education: technical school, ordinary vocational school, national key vocational school, and vocational college.

The predecessor of Sun Yat sen College at the University of Electronic Science and Technology was Sun Yat sen College, which was established with the approval of the former National Education Commission in October 1986. In 1995, it was independently established and renamed Zhongshan University, implementing a management system of provincial and municipal co management, with the city as the main body. In October 2002, with the approval of the Ministry of Education, Sun Yat sen College of the University of Electronic Science and Technology was established. Jilin University Zhuhai College (hereinafter referred to as the College) is an independent college established in cooperation between Jilin University and Zhuhai Huazheng Education Investment Co., Ltd. on Jilin University Zhuhai Campus, approved by the Ministry of Education on May 18, 2004, in accordance with the "Several Opinions on Standardizing and Strengthening the Management of Independent Colleges in Ordinary Universities through New Mechanisms and Models" issued by the Ministry of Education [2003] No. 8. The college currently has 13 departments and 3 teaching centers, with over 18800 full-time undergraduate students on campus.
