The predecessor of Guangxi Vocational and Technical College was Guangxi Labor University, founded in 1965. In 1998, it was approved by the Ministry of Education to be restructured as a higher vocational college for nationwide enrollment. In 2002, the college was designated as a national key supporting demonstration vocational college, and in 2007, it became one of the first batch of demonstration higher vocational colleges in Guangxi.

Guangxi Agricultural Vocational and Technical College is a full-time regular higher education institution approved by the People's Government of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region in August 2002. Its predecessor was Guangxi Agricultural School, founded in January 1942.

Guangxi Academy of Arts is located in Nanning, the capital of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, and is one of the six comprehensive art colleges under the provincial government in China. The college's predecessor was the "Guangxi Art Teacher Training Class" initiated by Mr. Man Qianzi, Xu Beihong, and Wu Bochao in Guilin in 1938. It later developed into Guangxi Art College, which was merged into the Central South American College and the Central South Audio College during the adjustment of higher education institutions nationwide in 1953. The predecessor of Guangxi Electromechanical Vocational and Technical College was Guangxi Machinery Industry School, founded in 1958.
