Guangdong Water Resources and Electric Power Vocational and Technical College is a public full-time higher education institution approved by the Ministry of Education in July 1999. The college is under the jurisdiction of the Guangdong Provincial Department of Water Resources and receives guidance from the Guangdong Provincial Department of Education in its business. The predecessor of the college was the Guangzhou Civil and Hydraulic Engineering School established in October 1952, which was suspended during the Cultural Revolution. In May 1973, it resumed operation and was renamed as Guangdong Provincial Water Conservancy and Electric Power School. In July 1999, with the approval of the Ministry of Education, it was upgraded to Guangdong Vocational and Technical College of Water Resources and Electric Power. Foshan Vocational and Technical College is a full-time ordinary university approved by the Guangdong Provincial Government in 1999 and organized by the Foshan Municipal Government. The college is divided into two campuses, namely the Nanhai Campus and the Weiguo Road Campus, covering a total area of over 500 acres. Its predecessor was the Guangdong Provincial Posts and Telecommunications School, which has a history of over 50 years and is known as the "Huangpu Military Academy of Guangdong Posts and Telecommunications". At the beginning of 2008, the superior supervisory unit of the college established Guangdong Communication Industry Service Co., Ltd. Guangzhou Training Branch (Guangdong Communication Industry Service Co., Ltd. Training Center) in the college, implementing a "two brand, one set of personnel" operation with the college. Normal education was established in 1904, renamed Leizhou Normal College in 1978, upgraded to Zhanjiang Normal College in 1991, and became the first normal university in China to successfully pass the undergraduate teaching qualification evaluation by the Ministry of Education in 2000. In 2007, it passed the undergraduate teaching level evaluation by the Ministry of Education with excellent results.
