Wenzhou Medical College is a provincial higher education institution and a key construction university in Zhejiang Province. The predecessor of the school can be traced back to the Zhejiang Medical Specialized School established in Hangzhou in 1912, formerly known as "Zhejiang Second Medical College". In August 1958, Zhejiang Medical College moved from Hangzhou to Wenzhou to establish the school, and began admitting five-year undergraduate students that year.
