Nantong Agricultural Vocational and Technical College, formerly known as the National Advanced Agricultural Vocational School, was founded in Chongqing in 1945 and relocated to Nantong in 1946. After liberation, it was renamed as Nantong Agricultural School in Jiangsu Province. In 2003, with the approval of the Jiangsu Provincial People's Government, it was upgraded to Nantong Agricultural Vocational and Technical College. Suzhou Vocational University was established in May 1981. It is a full-time higher vocational college organized by the Suzhou Municipal Government, based on the preparation office of the former Suzhou Industrial College, approved by the Jiangsu Provincial Government and filed with the Ministry of Education. As one of the oldest vocational universities in China, its educational history can be traced back to the establishment of Suzhou Industrial College in 1911.

Jinling University of Science and Technology is a full-time undergraduate institution established in June 2002, with the approval of the Ministry of Education and the provincial and municipal governments. It was formed by the merger of the former Nanjing Jinling Vocational University and Nanjing Agricultural College, focusing on cultivating advanced applied talents. The school has three campuses, Jiangning, Shogunate, and Baixia, covering an area of nearly 1600 acres. It was approved by the Ministry of Education of the People's Republic of China in 2002 and established by the merger of Pengcheng Vocational University and Xuzhou Economic Management Cadre College as a full-time regular undergraduate institution. In June 2007, with the consent of the Jiangsu Provincial People's Government, Xuzhou Education College was reorganized and merged into Xuzhou Engineering College.
