Site Description: Wuxi Vocational and Technical College is a state-owned public full-time ordinary higher vocational college. Founded in March 1959, it was founded by the National Ministry of Agricultural Machinery and named Wuxi Agricultural Machinery Manufacturing School; In March 1979, it was renamed as Wuxi Machinery Manufacturing School in Jiangsu Province, under the jurisdiction of the Jiangsu Provincial Department of Machinery Industry; In January 1991, Wuxi Machinery United Workers' University was merged; In October 1994, it became one of the first 10 schools in China to hold five-year higher vocational education; In July 1999, with the approval of the Ministry of Education, it was upgraded and renamed Wuxi Vocational and Technical College, under the jurisdiction of the Jiangsu Provincial Department of Education; In December 2006, it was listed by the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Finance as one of the first 28 "National Demonstration Higher Vocational Colleges" approved construction units in China.
