Site Description: Guangdong Light Industry Vocational and Technical College is a full-time higher vocational and technical college established with the approval of the Ministry of Education in 1999. It is sponsored by the Guangdong Provincial People's Government and directly managed by the Guangdong Provincial Department of Education. Formerly known as the "Guangdong Provincial First Vocational School" founded in 1933, it has a history of 75 years of vocational education and has trained nearly 60000 graduates for society. The school currently has 16520 full-time students in regular vocational colleges. In June 2006, the school received an evaluation of the talent cultivation level of vocational colleges by the Ministry of Education, and the evaluation result was excellent. In 2007, it was listed as a provincial-level demonstration university construction unit. In 2008, it was listed as a national demonstration university construction unit.
