Nanjing Vocational and Technical College of Chemical Industry is located in Dachang Town, Nanjing, a heavy chemical industry base in China known as the "cradle of Chinese chemical industry", and is under the jurisdiction of the Education Department of Jiangsu Province. Jiangsu Maritime Vocational and Technical College is a full-time regular higher education institution established by the merger of Nanjing Maritime School and Nanjing Maritime School with the approval of the Jiangsu Provincial People's Government in July 2003. Suzhou Vocational University was established in May 1981. It is a full-time higher vocational college organized by the Suzhou Municipal Government, based on the preparation office of the former Suzhou Industrial College, approved by the Jiangsu Provincial Government and filed with the Ministry of Education. As one of the oldest vocational universities in China, its educational history can be traced back to the establishment of Suzhou Industrial College in 1911.

Xuzhou Engineering College is located in the ancient city of Xuzhou, which is a national historical and cultural city, the birthplace of Han culture, and known as the "thoroughfare of the five provinces". Jiangsu Institute of Technology is located in Changzhou City, Jiangsu Province, a famous historical and cultural city in Jiangnan, which is economically developed and has a diverse population. The school was founded in 1978 and was originally named Nanjing University of Chemical Technology Wuxi Branch and Changzhou Branch. It is a provincial-level full-time undergraduate institution established at the beginning of the reform and opening up. In 1984, a joint educational mechanism was implemented between the People's Government of Jiangsu Province and China National Petroleum and Chemical Corporation. In 1992, it officially became a subordinate institution under the management of China National Petroleum and Chemical Corporation (formerly China National Petroleum and Chemical Corporation) and was renamed Jiangsu Institute of Petroleum and Chemical Technology. Since 2000, the school has implemented a management system jointly built by the central and local governments, with Jiangsu Province as the main management center. In 2002, it was renamed Jiangsu Institute of Technology. After more than 30 years of construction and development, the school has become a regular higher education institution with distinct educational characteristics, with a focus on engineering, a combination of science and engineering, infiltration of humanities and science, and coordinated development of multiple disciplines.

Yancheng Institute of Technology was founded in June 1958 and is a full-time undergraduate institution in Jiangsu Province. It implements a management system of provincial and municipal co construction, with a provincial-based approach. It is located in Yancheng, a new industrial center city along the eastern coast of Jiangsu Province, known as the "Oriental Wetland Capital, Crane and Deer World". In May 1996, with the approval of the former National Education Commission, Yancheng Industrial College and Yancheng Vocational University merged to form Yancheng Institute of Technology, establishing the first undergraduate college in Yancheng City. In February 2000, with the approval of the Jiangsu Provincial People's Government, the original Yancheng Accounting School was merged into Yancheng Institute of Technology.

Yangzhou University is a key comprehensive university in Jiangsu Province and the first university in China to run a school by merger. In 1992, Yangzhou Normal University, Jiangsu Agricultural University, Yangzhou Institute of Technology, Yangzhou Medical College, Jiangsu Water Conservancy Engineering College, Jiangsu Commercial College and other six universities merged to form Yangzhou University. The history of Yangzhou University can be traced back to the establishment of Tongzhou Normal School and Tonghai Agricultural School in 1902 by the famous modern industrialist and educator Mr. Zhang Jian (later becoming a part of Nantong College). The former Jiangsu Agricultural College and Yangzhou Normal College developed on the basis of the Agricultural Science of Nantong College and the Cultural and Historical Science of Tongzhou Normal School. Sanjiang University is located in Nanjing, the "ancient capital of the Six Dynasties" - a famous historical and cultural city.
