The School of Medicine of Shanghai Jiao Tong University is located in the bustling city center of Shanghai, formerly known as Shanghai Second Medical University. The former Shanghai Second Medical University was formed by the merger of the School of Medicine of St. John's University (1896-1952), the School of Medicine of Zhendan University (1911-1952), and the Tongde School of Medicine (1918-1952) during the national higher education department adjustment in 1952. In 1997, the school officially approved the "211 Project" and is one of the key "211 Project" universities under national construction. On July 18, 2005, Shanghai Jiao Tong University merged with Shanghai Second Medical University, and the new Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine was established. Shanghai Theatre Academy is a higher art institution in China that cultivates specialized talents in drama. Its predecessor was the Shanghai Municipal Experimental Theatre School. It was founded on December 1, 1945 by renowned educator Gu Yuxiu and renowned playwrights Li Jianwu, Gu Zhongyi, Huang Zuolin, etc. Mr. Xiong Foxi was the first president of the academy. In October 1949, Shanghai Municipal Experimental Drama School was renamed as Shanghai Municipal Drama Junior College. In 1952, higher education institutions nationwide implemented departmental adjustments, and the Drama Department of Shandong University's Department of Arts and the Drama Group of Shanghai Xingzhi Art School were merged and officially established, renamed as the East China Branch of the Central Academy of Drama. In April 2000, it was transferred to Shanghai for co construction with the Ministry of Culture. In June 2002, the former School of Performing Arts at Shanghai Normal University, Shanghai Opera School, and Shanghai Dance School were merged into Shanghai Theatre College.

Shanghai Foreign Studies University is a national key university directly under the Ministry of Education and jointly built with Shanghai City, which has entered the "211 Project". The school was founded in December 1949, shortly after the establishment of the People's Republic of China, and was named Shanghai Russian School. In 1956, the school was renamed as Shanghai Foreign Languages College. In 1963, the school was designated as a national key university, directly under the leadership of the Ministry of Education. In 1994, the school was upgraded to Shanghai Foreign Studies University and became one of the first schools jointly built by the National Education Commission and Shanghai City. In 1996, the school was listed as a "211 Project" construction university by the National Education Commission. With 60 years of scholarly calligraphy and the fragrance of peach and plum, the school has achieved a good reputation in society and gained some influence internationally.

East China University of Science and Technology, formerly known as East China University of Chemical Technology, has a history dating back more than 100 years to Nanyang Public School and Zhendan University. It was the first higher education institution in China known for its chemical characteristics, formed by the merger of chemical departments from universities such as Jiaotong University (Shanghai), Zhendan University (Shanghai), Datong University (Shanghai), Soochow University (Suzhou), and Jiangnan University (Wuxi) in 1952 during the national college department adjustment. In 1956, it was designated as one of the first schools in China to admit graduate students. Since 1960, it has been designated as a national key university directly under the Ministry of Education by the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China. In 1993, with the approval of the National Education Commission, it was renamed East China University of Science and Technology. In June 1996, the school entered the key construction ranks of the national "211 Project". In October 1997, Shanghai participated in co construction and co management. In 2000, it was approved by the Ministry of Education to establish a graduate school, and in 2008, it was approved to build the "985 Innovation Platform". It is one of the first 22 universities in the country to implement independent enrollment reform. Hainan University of Finance and Economics has a history of 92 years and is currently a key construction university under the Ministry of Education and the National "211 Project", and has entered the ranks of national high-level university construction projects. In 1997, Comrade Jiang Zemin personally wrote an inscription: "Building Shanghai University of Finance and Economics into a first-class socialist university facing the new century.

East China Normal University (ECNU) is one of the first 16 key universities directly under the Ministry of Education of the People's Republic of China (MOE), and has been listed as one of the key universities in the "Project 985" and "211 Project". It is the first socialist normal university in New China established on the original site of Daxia University, based on Daxia University and Guanghua University, and transferred to some departments of Fudan University and Tongji University. In 1959, East China Normal University was identified as one of the first 16 key universities in China. In 1978, it was once again recognized as a national key university and was one of the 33 higher education institutions approved by the State Council to establish graduate schools. Tongji University

Shanghai Jiaotong University is one of the oldest institutions of higher learning in China. It is a national key university directly under the Ministry of Education and jointly built by the Ministry of Education and Shanghai Municipality. It is also one of the first batch of universities to be constructed during the "Seventh Five Year Plan" and the "Eighth Five Year Plan" and the "211 Project" and "Project 985". Fudan University was founded in 1905, formerly known as Fudan Public School, and was the first higher education institution independently founded by Chinese people. The word "Fudan" was chosen by Mr. Ma Xiangbo, the founder and renowned modern Chinese educator, and was selected from the famous sentence "The Sun and Moon are shining, and Fudan is coming" in the "Biography of Yu Xia" of the Book of Commerce. It aims to constantly strive for self-improvement and embodies the hope of Chinese intellectuals at that time for independent education and an educational powerhouse.

The predecessor of the school was Guangxi Provincial Longzhou Normal School. Since its establishment in 1939, it has gone through various stages, including Guangxi Provincial Longzhou Normal School, Nanning Special Zone Longzhou Normal School, and Nanning Second Normal School. In December 1978, with the approval of the State Council, a full-time ordinary higher education institution was established, named "Nanning Normal College", which is one of the earliest three teacher colleges established in Guangxi. In 1994, the National Education Commission renamed the school "Nanning Normal College". On March 26, 2009, with the approval of the Ministry of Education, the school was upgraded to a undergraduate institution - Guangxi Normal University for Nationalities.
