School Overview: Dalian Jiaotong University was founded in 1956. Its predecessor was Dalian Locomotive and Rolling Stock School and Dalian Railway College, which were under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Railways. In February 2000, it was transferred to the management of Liaoning Provincial Government and implemented a management system of "central and local co construction, with local management as the main focus". In May 2004, with the approval of the Ministry of Education, it was renamed Dalian Jiaotong University, which is the only higher education institution in Northeast China with rail transit as its characteristic.

Dalian Medical University was founded in 1947, formerly known as Kanto Medical College. In 1949, Kanto Medical College was merged into Dalian University and renamed Dalian University School of Medicine. In 1950, the establishment of Dalian University was abolished and Dalian Medical College became independent. In 1969, Dalian Medical College relocated southward to Zunyi City, Guizhou Province, and established Zunyi Medical College. In 1978, the school was reopened at the original site of Dalian Medical College, still known as Dalian Medical College. In 1994, the school was renamed Dalian Medical University. Bohai University is a comprehensive university in Liaoning Province. It is located in Jinzhou, Liaoning Province, a historic city on the coast of the Bohai Sea. Bohai University was approved by the Ministry of Education in 2003 and formed by the merger of Jinzhou Normal University and Liaoning Commercial College. Jinzhou Normal University was founded in 1950, and Liaoning Commercial College was founded in 1951.
