North China University of Water Resources and Hydropower is located in Zhengzhou City, on the banks of the Yellow River, the mother river of the Chinese nation. It is a university jointly built by the Ministry of Water Resources and Henan Province, mainly managed by Henan Province, and is one of the key universities supported by Henan Province for construction. In 2005, he was awarded the Excellent Award in the undergraduate teaching level evaluation of ordinary higher education institutions by the Ministry of Education. Henan Normal University is a provincial key university with a long history of establishment. The school is located in Xinxiang City, a famous city in northern Henan, at the intersection of the Beijing Guangzhou Taihang Railway and the Taihe Railway, with the towering Taihang Mountains to the north and the rolling Yellow River to the south. It is situated on the vast pastoral land and the beautiful shore of Weishui. Its predecessor was Zhongzhou University founded in 1923 and Pingyuan Normal College founded in 1951. After the establishment of New China, due to departmental adjustments, the school was renamed as Henan Normal University Second College, Henan Second Normal University, and Xinxiang Normal University. Henan Normal University was founded in 1985.

Henan Agricultural University was founded in 1912, formerly known as Henan Public Agricultural Specialized School. It has since gone through various stages, including National Kaifeng Sun Yat sen University's Agricultural Sciences, Provincial Sun Yat sen University's Agricultural Sciences, Provincial Henan University's Agricultural College, and National Henan University's Agricultural College. In 1952, when the national departments were adjusted, the College of Agriculture of Henan University was established independently and became Henan Agricultural College. In 1957, it moved from the ancient city of Kaifeng to the provincial capital of Zhengzhou. In December 1984, it was renamed Henan Agricultural University.

Henan University of Science and Technology was founded in Beijing in 1952. In 1956, in order to cooperate with the construction of the national heavy industry base, it was relocated to Luoyang and renamed as Luoyang Institute of Technology. In 1998, it was transferred from the Ministry of Machinery Industry to Henan Province. In 2002, in order to optimize the structure of higher education in Henan Province, the Henan Provincial Party Committee and the Henan Provincial Government established the comprehensive university - Henan University of Science and Technology.

Henan University is located in the historic and cultural city of Kaifeng, the ancient capital of the seven dynasties. 100 years ago, this was the location of Henan Gongyuan, where the national examinations were held in 1903 and 1904. The thousand year old imperial examination system came to an end here. The European wind and rain of the early 20th century and the dawn of the victory of the Xinhai Revolution gave birth to this university.

The new Zhengzhou University was formed on July 10, 2000 by merging the former Zhengzhou University, Zhengzhou University of Technology, and Henan Medical University. It is a comprehensive university covering 11 disciplines, including science, engineering, medicine, literature, history, philosophy, law, economics, management, education, and agriculture. It is the only national "211 Project" key construction university in Henan Province, and is a university jointly built by the People's Government of Henan Province and the Ministry of Education.

Qinghai University for Nationalities was founded in December 1949 and is one of the earliest universities in Qinghai and one of the earliest ethnic universities in China. It is also one of the first universities in China to have the right to confer master's degrees. Over the past 60 years since its establishment, the school has been continuously running and has gone through several stages, including the construction period, reform and development period, and leapfrog period. It has made important contributions to the construction of political power, democratic reform, economic development, and social and cultural progress in Qinghai. In January 2001, the Qinghai Provincial Party Committee and Government decided to substantially integrate Qinghai Normal College into the school. In 2003, the school successfully passed the undergraduate teaching level evaluation by the Ministry of Education. In 2005, Xining Railway Driver School was merged into the school. In March 2009, with the approval of the Ministry of Education, the school was renamed Qinghai University for Nationalities.

Qinghai Normal University was founded in 1956, initially named Qinghai Normal College, expanded to Qinghai Normal College in 1958, and renamed Qinghai Normal University in 1984. In 1997, after the adjustment of the layout and structure of universities in Qinghai Province, the former Qinghai Normal University merged with the former Qinghai Education College to form the new Qinghai Normal University. From 2000 to 2004, the former Qinghai Ethnic Normal College, the former Qinghai University Water Conservancy Vocational School, and the former Qinghai Bank School were successively merged into Qinghai Normal University.

Qinghai University, formerly known as Qinghai Institute of Technology, was founded in 1958. In November 1960, Qinghai Institute of Technology merged with Qinghai Agriculture and Animal Husbandry College, Qinghai Medical College, and Qinghai University of Finance and Economics to form Qinghai University. During the early stages of the Cultural Revolution, Qinghai University was abolished. In 1971, it was restored to Qinghai Institute of Industry and Agriculture, which includes two major universities: industry and agriculture. In 1988, it was renamed Qinghai University. With the adjustment of the layout and structure of colleges and universities, Qinghai Animal Husbandry and Veterinary College was incorporated in October 1997, Qinghai Academy of Agricultural and Forestry Sciences, Qinghai Academy of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Sciences, and Qinghai Vocational and Technical College of Finance and Economics were reorganized in January 2001, and Qinghai Medical College was incorporated into the new Qinghai University in 2004.

Gansu Forestry Vocational and Technical College is located in Tianshui City, known as "Longshang Jiangnan". It is the only independent forestry higher vocational college in northwest China, founded in 1956. In order to meet the needs of ecological environment construction in the western region, in July 2001, with the approval of the Gansu Provincial People's Government, Gansu Forestry School, a former national key vocational school, was transformed into a vocational college.

Gansu United University is a provincial public ordinary higher education institution that was approved by the Ministry of Education in July 2001 and merged with the former Gansu Institute of Education and Gansu United University, integrating multiple disciplines such as literature, science, engineering, law, economics, art, education, etc.
