Liaocheng University is a comprehensive university in Shandong Province. It is located in Liaocheng City, Shandong Province, a national historical and cultural city known as the "Jiangbei Water City". The school was founded in 1974 and was originally named Liaocheng Branch of Shandong Normal University. In 1981, it was approved by the State Council to be rebuilt as Liaocheng Normal University, and in 2002, it was renamed as Liaocheng University with the approval of the Ministry of Education. The current Party Secretary is Professor Cheng Yuhai, the doctoral supervisor, and the President is Professor Song Yiqiao, the doctoral supervisor. Shandong University of Commerce, formerly known as China Coal Economics College, was founded in December 1985. In September 1998, it was changed from being managed by the former Ministry of Coal to being jointly built by the central government and Shandong Province, with Shandong Province as the main management center. Shandong Police Academy, formerly known as the Shandong Police Academy, was founded in Linyi, Shandong Province in 1946. It is the first police academy in the history of the CPC.
