Changzhou Institute of Technology
Changzhou Institute of Technology is located in the economically developed, culturally and educationally prosperous, convenient transportation, and beautiful and rich historical city of Changzhou in Jiangnan. The school was founded in 1978 and has now developed into an application-oriented undergraduate university with distinct characteristics in disciplines such as engineering, literature, science, economics, management, and education. Changzhou Institute of Technology was formerly known as Changzhou "721" Industrial University, Changzhou Workers' University, Changzhou Vocational University, and Changzhou Institute of Industrial Technology. In 1999, with the approval of the Ministry of Education and the Jiangsu Provincial Government, Changzhou Light Industry Workers' University was merged into Changzhou Institute of Industrial Technology. Located on the banks of the Qinhuai River and under the Stone City, Nanjing Art College is the only comprehensive higher art institution in Jiangsu Province, and also the earliest independent higher art institution in China that has continued to this day. Its predecessor was the Shanghai Academy of Fine Arts and Painting, founded by Mr. Liu Haisu, the founder of Chinese art education, in 1912, in collaboration with fellow artists. In 1930, it was renamed as Shanghai Academy of Fine Arts, with Mr. Cai Yuanpei serving as the chairman of the board of directors of Shanghai Academy of Fine Arts, and writing lyrics, inscriptions, and training for the school anthem. In 1922, Mr. Yan Wenliang founded Suzhou Art College in Suzhou. These two earliest private art schools in China merged with the Art and Music departments of Shandong University in 1952 during the national college department adjustment to form the East China Art College, located in Sheqiao, Wuxi, Jiangsu. The merger was completed on December 8th, marking the anniversary of Nanjing Academy of Arts. In 1958, Huadong Art College moved to Nanjing, located at Dingjiaqiao. In June of the same year, it was renamed Nanjing Art College. In 1959, it was named Nanjing Art College and the academic system was changed to four years, thus completing the establishment of the school. In 1967, it was relocated to No. 15 Huju North Road, Nanjing. In 2007, it was included in the construction of provincial key universities. In 2005, the school signed a campus replacement agreement with the neighboring Nanjing Institute of Engineering, with the campus located at No. 74 Beijing West Road. After nearly a century of construction and development, Nanjing Art College has thrived through wind and rain, and has become a comprehensive higher art institution with great influence both domestically and internationally.
