Site Description: Weinan Normal University was founded in 1958 and ceased operations in 1962 due to economic difficulties. In 1975, the Shaanxi Provincial Government established the Weinan Specialized College of Shaanxi Normal University. In 1978, with the approval of the State Council, it was renamed Weinan Normal College. In 1983, Weinan Education College was established in the Weinan region, focusing on in-service teacher training. In March 2000, with the approval of the Ministry of Education, Weinan Normal College and Weinan Education College merged to establish a undergraduate level Weinan Normal College. The college focuses on teacher education and has the right to confer bachelor's degrees.
