Site Description: Hunan University of Technology is a provincial-level undergraduate university located in the South Lake Scenic Area of Yueyang City, a national historical and cultural city and an open city along the Yangtze River. The natural environment is beautiful and the cultural heritage is profound. The history of the school can be traced back to the lakeside university founded by Americans in 1910. After the establishment of New China, schools have undergone changes. In March 1999, with the approval of the Ministry of Education, Yueyang Normal College, Yueyang University, and Yueyang Education College merged and upgraded to Yueyang Normal College. In February 2003, it was renamed Hunan Institute of Technology. In December 2006, the school passed the evaluation of undergraduate teaching level by the Ministry of Education with high standards. On December 31, 2008, the school successfully passed the expert evaluation and became a newly added master's degree awarding unit for project construction in Hunan Province.
