Site Description: Hunan First Normal University, formerly known as Changsha Chengnan Academy founded by Zhang Shi during the Southern Song Dynasty, was established as Hunan Normal University in 1903. In 1912 and 1914, it was successively renamed as Hunan Public First Normal School and Hunan Provincial First Normal School. After liberation, it was renamed as Hunan Provincial First Normal School. In 2000, it was upgraded to a regular vocational college. In 2008, it was upgraded to a regular undergraduate institution of higher education and renamed to its current name.
