Site Description: Established in 1978, the Graduate University of Chinese Academy of Sciences (English name) of the Chinese Academy of Sciences is the first graduate school approved by the State Council, a formal university officially approved by the Ministry of Education, and a new modern research-oriented university specializing in doctoral and postgraduate education. As a part of China's national education system, like other formal universities, enrollment is included in the national plan, and degree awarding is managed by the Academic Degrees Committee of the State Council. The Graduate School of the Chinese Academy of Sciences has trained the first doctor of science, the first doctor of engineering, the first female doctor and the first double degree doctor in China.
