• Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine

    The School of Medicine of Shanghai Jiao Tong University is located in the bustling city center of Shanghai, formerly known as Shanghai Second Medical University. The former Shanghai Second Medical University was formed by the merger of the School of Medicine of St. John's University (1896-1952), the School of Medicine of Zhendan University (1911-1952), and the Tongde School of Medicine (1918-1952) during the national higher education department adjustment in 1952. In 1997, the school officially approved the "211 Project" and is one of the key "211 Project" universities under national construction. On July 18, 2005, Shanghai Jiao Tong University merged with Shanghai Second Medical University, and the new Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine was established.     Shanghai Theatre Academy is a higher art institution in China that cultivates specialized talents in drama. Its predecessor was the Shanghai Municipal Experimental Theatre School. In October 1949, Shanghai Municipal Experimental Drama School was renamed as Shanghai Municipal Drama Junior College.
