The School of Medicine of Shanghai Jiao Tong University is located in the bustling city center of Shanghai, formerly known as Shanghai Second Medical University. The former Shanghai Second Medical University was formed by the merger of the School of Medicine of St. John's University (1896-1952), the School of Medicine of Zhendan University (1911-1952), and the Tongde School of Medicine (1918-1952) during the national higher education department adjustment in 1952. Shanghai Theatre Academy is a higher art institution in China that cultivates specialized talents in drama. Its predecessor was the Shanghai Municipal Experimental Theatre School.
