Henan University of Science and Technology was founded in Beijing in 1952. In 1956, in order to cooperate with the construction of the national heavy industry base, it was relocated to Luoyang and renamed as Luoyang Institute of Technology. In 1998, it was transferred from the Ministry of Machinery Industry to Henan Province. In 2002, in order to optimize the structure of higher education in Henan Province, the Henan Provincial Party Committee and the Henan Provincial Government established the comprehensive university - Henan University of Science and Technology.

Qinghai University for Nationalities was founded in December 1949 and is one of the earliest universities in Qinghai and one of the earliest ethnic universities in China. It is also one of the first universities in China to have the right to confer master's degrees. Over the past 60 years since its establishment, the school has been continuously running and has gone through several stages, including the construction period, reform and development period, and leapfrog period. It has made important contributions to the construction of political power, democratic reform, economic development, and social and cultural progress in Qinghai. In January 2001, the Qinghai Provincial Party Committee and Government decided to substantially integrate Qinghai Normal College into the school. In 2003, the school successfully passed the undergraduate teaching level evaluation by the Ministry of Education. In 2005, Xining Railway Driver School was merged into the school. In March 2009, with the approval of the Ministry of Education, the school was renamed Qinghai University for Nationalities.

Gansu United University is a provincial public ordinary higher education institution that was approved by the Ministry of Education in July 2001 and merged with the former Gansu Institute of Education and Gansu United University, integrating multiple disciplines such as literature, science, engineering, law, economics, art, education, etc.

The predecessor of Longdong College was Qingyang Normal College, established with the approval of the State Council in December 1978. In July 1992, the National Education Commission renamed the school Qingyang Normal College. In April 2003, the Ministry of Education approved the establishment of a multidisciplinary undergraduate college, Longdong College, on the basis of Qingyang Normal College. In May 2007, the school passed the first undergraduate education quality assessment and acceptance organized by the Gansu Provincial Department of Education, and the evaluation of bachelor's degree authorization units organized by the Gansu Provincial Academic Degrees Committee, obtaining the right to grant bachelor's degrees. Since its establishment 31 years ago, the school has been awarded the honorary titles of "Top 400 National Department Greening Units" and "National Greening Model Units". 20 social practice activities for college students have been commended and rewarded by the Propaganda Department, the Ministry of Education, and the Central Committee of the Communist Youth League. It has trained 38345 qualified graduates of various types and made due contributions to the national education cause and the economic and social development of Gansu.

Lanzhou City College is an ordinary full-time undergraduate university approved by the Ministry of Education. The college currently covers an area of 700.6 acres and has three campuses. The building area of the campus is 328000 square meters, with a total fixed asset value of 310 million yuan, a teaching instrument and equipment value of 56.8 million yuan, a library collection of 638000 books, 153000 e-books, and over 2000 types of Chinese and foreign journals.

Hexi University is located in Zhangye City in the central part of the Hexi Corridor, and is the only multidisciplinary undergraduate institution in western Gansu and Qianli Hexi Corridor that focuses on teacher education. The school's predecessor was Zhangye Normal College, which was founded in 1958. It was restored and established with the approval of the State Council in 1978, and in May 2001, it was renamed as Hexi College with the approval of the Ministry of Education. Our school has two brands, both of which are the Hexi Branch of Gansu Academy of Social Sciences. The school has a direct service area of 260000 square kilometers, accounting for 54% of the total area of Gansu Province. It is responsible for the cultivation of basic education teachers and applied talents in the Hexi region. At present, the campus covers an area of 1002 acres, with a building area of 260000 square meters, and the library has a collection of 720000 books. There are 32 undergraduate majors such as Chinese Language and Literature Education, 30 vocational (vocational) majors (which have been basically closed in recent years), 18 teaching departments (at the level of secondary colleges), 1 secondary college (as a continuing education college), 7 research institutes, and a 1700 acre experimental internship farm. There are over 10000 full-time undergraduate students on campus.

Gansu College of Political Science and Law

Lanzhou Business School, formerly known as Gansu Provincial College of Finance and Economics established in 1958, was officially established in July 1981 with the approval of the State Council. It is the only higher education institution in finance and economics in Gansu, Qinghai, and Ningxia provinces (regions) that focuses on undergraduate education.

Gansu College of Traditional Chinese Medicine was officially established in 1978 with the approval of the State Council, marking the beginning of higher traditional Chinese medicine education in Gansu Province. Over the past 31 years since its establishment, under the leadership of the Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial Government, the hospital has adhered to the Party's educational policy and the correct direction of education. Through the hard work and unremitting efforts of previous leadership teams and generations of people from Gansu University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, it has made significant progress in teaching, scientific research, medical treatment, and other aspects. It has trained more than 16000 qualified traditional Chinese medicine professionals for society and made due contributions to the medical and social development of Gansu Province.

Northwest University for Nationalities was established in August 1950 and is directly under the National Ethnic Affairs Commission. It is the first ethnic higher education institution established after the founding of the People's Republic of China. In April 2003, with the approval of the Ministry of Education and the National Ethnic Affairs Commission, it was renamed Northwest University for Nationalities.

The predecessor of Gansu Agricultural University was the National Veterinary College founded in Lanzhou in October 1946. It was the only veterinary university in China at that time. The first dean was Academician Sheng Tongsheng, a famous veterinary scientist, veterinary educator and one of the founders of modern veterinary medicine. In 1950, the school was renamed Northwest Veterinary College; In 1951, it was renamed Northwest Animal Husbandry and Veterinary College. At the beginning of the establishment of the university, a group of scholars studying abroad gave up their superior living conditions and came to the western part of the country to aspire to the cause of animal husbandry and veterinary medicine, creating a new situation in the higher education of animal husbandry and veterinary medicine in China. They trained the first batch of high-level specialized talents in the field of animal husbandry and veterinary medicine in China, and created a large number of internationally and domestically renowned experts and scholars.

Lanzhou Jiaotong University was founded in 1958 and was established by transferring some departments of Tangshan Railway University (now Southwest Jiaotong University) and Beijing Railway University (now Beijing Jiaotong University) into Lanzhou. In 2000, according to the national overall planning, a management system of "co construction between the central and local governments, with local government management as the main focus" was implemented. In 2003, with the approval of the Ministry of Education, it was renamed Lanzhou Jiaotong University. After 50 years of construction and development, the school has now become a teaching and research oriented university with coordinated development of multiple disciplines and distinct educational characteristics.
