Site Description: Lanzhou Jiaotong University was founded in 1958 and was established by transferring some departments of Tangshan Railway University (now Southwest Jiaotong University) and Beijing Railway University (now Beijing Jiaotong University) into Lanzhou. In 2000, according to the national overall planning, a management system of "co construction between the central and local governments, with local government management as the main focus" was implemented. In 2003, with the approval of the Ministry of Education, it was renamed Lanzhou Jiaotong University. After 50 years of construction and development, the school has now become a teaching and research oriented university with coordinated development of multiple disciplines and distinct educational characteristics.
