Site Description: Ankang College is a provincial-level, multidisciplinary, full-time undergraduate institution. The predecessor of the college was Ankang University, founded in 1958, which was suspended in 1963 due to national economic difficulties. In 1978, the "Ankang Specialized College of Shaanxi Normal University" was re established, and in 1984, it was renamed as "Ankang Normal College" with the approval of the Shaanxi Provincial People's Government. In 2004, the original Ankang Education College and Shaanxi Ankang Agricultural School were merged into Ankang Normal College. In February 2006, they were approved by the Ministry of Education to be upgraded to undergraduate colleges.
