Chongqing Aerospace Vocational and Technical College is affiliated with the Seventh Research Institute of China Aerospace Science and Technology Group. It was founded in 1983 and was originally named "Southwest Aerospace Workers' University"; Approved by the Ministry of Education in July 1999, it was converted into Chongqing Electronic Vocational and Technical College; In March 2008, it was renamed as "Chongqing Aerospace Vocational and Technical College". In December 2008, it was designated as a key cultivation unit of Chongqing Municipal Demonstration College by the Chongqing Municipal Education Commission. In August 2009, it was officially designated as a demonstration higher vocational college at the municipal level by the Chongqing Municipal Education Commission. It is the first independently established higher vocational and technical college in Chongqing.

Chongqing Engineering Vocational and Technical College was founded in 1951 and is a full-time ordinary higher education institution organized by the Chongqing Municipal Government and supervised by the Chongqing Municipal Education Commission. In 2005, the college passed the evaluation of talent cultivation level in vocational colleges and obtained the excellent level; In 2007, it was designated as a national demonstration higher vocational college construction unit by the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Finance.

The Third Military Medical University of the People's Liberation Army of China is located in Chongqing municipality. Chongqing Three Gorges University was founded in 1956 and is located in Wanzhou, the millennium old city of immigration. In March 1994, it was approved by the former National Education Commission as a regular undergraduate institution (Ministry of Education code 10643), and is the only multidisciplinary regular undergraduate institution in the hinterland of the Three Gorges Reservoir Area.
