Site Description: Established on July 3, 1999, the Chinese Academy of Sciences Shanghai Institute of Life Sciences (hereinafter referred to as the Chinese Academy of Sciences) is composed of eight life science research institutions, including the former Shanghai Institute of Biochemistry, the Shanghai Institute of Cell Biology, the Shanghai Institute of Physiology, the Shanghai Institute of Brain, the Shanghai Institute of Medicine, the Shanghai Institute of Plant Physiology, the Shanghai Institute of Insects, and the Shanghai Research Center of Bioengineering Built through institutional innovation. At present, there are 8 research institutes and 3 support units, namely, Institute of Biochemistry and Cell Biology, Institute of Neuroscience, Institute of Medicine, Institute of Plant Physiology and Ecology, Institute of Health Sciences, Institute of Nutrition Sciences, Shanghai Pasteur Institute, Chinese Academy of Sciences Mapu computational biology Partner Institute, Shanghai Life Science Information Center, Shanghai Zhongke Wubaihao Bioengineering Research and Development Co., Ltd Shanghai Experimental Animal Center.
