Site Description: Suzhou Health Vocational and Technical College is a provincial-level full-time vocational college. Its predecessor was the Suzhou Boxi Hospital Nurse School founded by the American Christian Church in 1911, which was one of the earliest modern health colleges in China. After liberation, it was taken over by the people's government and named Sunan Suzhou Nurse School. Subsequently, the nursing major of Suzhou Private Xinmin Health School and Jiading Nurse School were gradually merged, and in 1953, they were renamed as Suzhou Nurse School in Jiangsu Province. In 1958, Suzhou Medical College was founded on the basis of the original nursing school. In 1965, it was renamed as Suzhou Health School in Jiangsu Province. In 1997, it merged with the First People's Hospital Affiliated to Suzhou Medical College Health School, and in 2002, it merged with Suzhou Second Health School. In 2002, it was evaluated by the Jiangsu Provincial Higher Education Establishment Evaluation Committee and established Suzhou Health Vocational and Technical College in 2005. At present, there are more than 8000 full-time students on campus. The three campuses are located in Shuyuan Lane in Suzhou Ancient City District, North District of Suzhou International Education Park in Shihu Scenic Area, and Mudu in the ancient town, covering an area of over 690 acres with a construction area of over 230000 square meters.
