Site Description: Sichuan Engineering Vocational and Technical College is a public full-time ordinary higher education institution under the Sichuan Provincial Economic Commission. It is located in Deyang City, Sichuan Province, a national major technical equipment manufacturing base (more than 40 kilometers away from Chengdu urban area). The college was founded in 1959 and was renamed as a undergraduate institution from 1960 to 1962. It was named "Southwest Heavy Mechanical and Electrical College" and became one of the first higher vocational and technical colleges established in Sichuan Province in 2001. In 2005, with the approval of the provincial government, the original Deyang Education College was integrated into the college as a whole. In December 2006, it was identified by the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Finance as one of the first (28) national demonstration vocational colleges in China, establishing the college's leading position among vocational colleges in the country.
