Site Description: Beijing University of Science and Technology was established in 1952 by some departments of five famous universities in China, including Beiyang University. It has now developed into a national key university directly under the Ministry of Education, with a focus on engineering and coordinated development of multiple disciplines such as engineering, science, management, humanities, economics, and law. It is one of the first universities in China to officially establish graduate schools. In May 1997, the school was one of the first to enter the ranks of national "211 Project" construction universities. In 2006, the school became a pilot university for the construction of the national "Advantage Discipline Innovation Platform" project.
