Site Description: The predecessor of Shaanxi University of Traditional Chinese Medicine was the Northwest Traditional Chinese Medicine Continuing Education School established in Xi'an in 1952. It was upgraded to Shaanxi University of Traditional Chinese Medicine in 1959 and relocated to the ancient capital of Xianyang in 1961. It is the only ordinary higher education institution in Shaanxi to cultivate advanced traditional Chinese medicine talents. It is one of the eight key construction traditional Chinese medicine universities in China determined by the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China in 1978, and was approved by the Academic Degrees Committee of the State Council as one of the first batch of higher medical colleges with the right to grant master's degrees in 1981.
