Site Description: Hunan University of Science and Technology was founded in 1941, formerly known as Hunan Provincial Seventh Normal School. In the spring of 1954, the site of the Provincial Seventh Normal School was moved from Dao County to Yangzitang, Lingling District. In 1971, a teacher training course was established in the Lingling area. In 1976, the Lingling Branch of Hunan Normal University was established. In 1981, it was named Lingling Normal College. In 2002, it was upgraded to a full-time regular undergraduate institution, Lingling College, and in 2004, it was renamed Hunan University of Science and Technology. The school is located in Yongzhou City, a famous historical and cultural city in Hunan Province. It covers an area of nearly 1300 acres, with a construction area of over 420000 square meters. The total value of teaching instruments and equipment is over 90 million yuan, the library has a collection of over 800000 books, and the total value of fixed assets is 450 million yuan. There are currently 14 teaching departments, 2 teaching departments, 13 research institutes, and 28 full-time undergraduate majors, targeting enrollment in 29 provinces (cities, autonomous regions) across the country.
